Danielle Lenzie
Danielle Lenzie took part in Run to the Beat 2009 on behalf of Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research on behalf of her father, Brian. He is was diagnosed with NK-Cell leukaemia in February last year. Brian was in hospital for a routine operation on a blocked tear duct but during pre-op tests doctors discovered that he had a rare and aggressive form of leukaemia. He is now responding well to treatment thanks to the fantastic amount of money raised every year through our supporters
Danielle says about Run to the Beat 2010:
" I will definitely be signing up to run to the beat again this year as I had such an amazing experience last September. I was understandably nervous of taking part in Run To The Beat as it was my first ever marathon and I wasn't sure that running in a giant banana suit on a sunny day was a good idea. However the atmosphere on the day was fantastic!
So many people lined the street to cheer the runners on and everyone taking part was so friendly and motivated me throughout the course! The last few miles really hurt but the feeling of achievement I got from crossing that Finish line was amazing! If any one is considering taking part in run to beat I would urge them to go for it, it was such a memorable day!"
