months leading up to the event. If this doesn't answer your query,

Registration & Pre Event:
How do I know I've been accepted into the
race?
If you applied and paid online then you'll receive a confirmation
email from us. If you haven't received this then please let us know
as soon as possible on info@runtothebeat.co.uk
Do I have to raise money for a
charity?
No, you don't have to, but we hope that many runners will choose
to raise funds for our official charity Leukaemia
and Lymphoma Research or a charity of your choice.
Can I fundraise for my own charity?
Yes, if you have a confirmed entry you can fundraise for whichever
charity you wish.
I'm interested in taking part but all direct places are
sold out, is there a waiting list?
We don't have a waiting list, however if all direct
places have sold out, you may be able to get a place from one of
our Official
Charities
Is there an age limit for the race?
The minimum age is 18. Please note this is determined by your age
on 31st December of the race year and not your age on race day.
How do I race with a friend?
When you register you'll need to enter your predicted time for
finishing the half marathon, this will affect who you start with on
the day.
How do I cancel my entry?
You need to email info@runtothebeat.co.uk
to advise us you're cancelling your entry, it will depend on when
you cancel as to what you're entitled to; if you cancel within 7
days after first registering, we'll give you a full refund. If it's
90 days or more to the event, then we'll defer your space to next
year free of charge. However if you cancel 0-89 days from the event
then we'll reserve you a space on next year's event, providing you
pay the entry fee. For full details please see our Terms and
Conditions. Please note you will not receive your free race
T-Shirt if you cancel.
Can I give my space away?
Unfortunately you can't. Due to health and safety it
would cause problems for our medical teams and results service, who
would have trouble identifying the new athlete. If race organisers
become aware of anyone who swaps their race number they will be
disqualified.
Will I receive anything before the event?
If you've entered online, you'll receive a confirmation email and
we'll also send you updates of various information via
eNewsletters. You will need to pick up your race pack prior to the
race, but more details will follow on this shortly.
How do I change my contact details?
You can change them by using your username and password,
this is found in your confirmation email. To amend the information
please Click here and then click on the edit
button.
How do I find out my wave time?
We'll confirm this online 3-4
weeks prior to the event. Your wave is determined by the predicted
time you gave on entering the event. If you'd like to change this
you will be able to move back on the day, but unfortunately not
forward.
Where can I find advice on pre-race
training?
You can find training advice on the Train with
Nike+ and Nutrition and Hydration pages.
Race Day Information:
Where's the start / finish?
The race starts and finishes at The O2.
What time does the race start?
The race starts at 09:45am.
I'm worried I might not complete the race in time. Can I
walk part of the way?
Of course you can, but please note due to time constraints the
roads will remain closed for a certain period only, so you'll need
to complete the 13 miles in under 3.5 hours before they start
reopening. A road sweep vehicle will drive ahead of them, so you'll
know this is happening. Please note, if the road sweep vehicle does
overtake you but you'd like to continue running, you can, just
please move onto the pavement and for your own safety be aware that
all course and medical facilities will cease at this point.

running?
If you need medical attention or are too tired to complete the
course, please alert the nearest steward who will call for
assistance.

day?
Please bring your timing chip, race T-shirt (which has your number
printed on) and any other personal kit you might need. If you are
leaving your bag at the baggage drop please ensure it is the bag
provided in your race pack - no other bags can be left in baggage
drop on race day.
What should I do when I arrive on the
day?
You should go to the athlete area which will be clearly signposted
on your arrival. The race pens are clearly divided by a
colour so please enter the pen you have been allocated by the
coloured band on your race t-shirt.
Are changing / shower / toilet facilities
available?
There are changing facilities next to the baggage drop but
unfortunately no shower facilities. There are 175 athlete toilets
available near to the baggage tent so please use these if you are
taking part, rather than queuing in the public area where there are
fewer available.
Where do I leave my clothes / personal
belongings?
You'll get numbered sticker and bag in your race pack, please just
stick this to your bag before handing it in at the bag drop. This
service is free to all runners, but all items are left at your own
